He Perfects Everything

ENCOURAGE

Affirmation: “He has perfected everything in my life.”

Anchor Scripture: Psalm 138:8

“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”

In life, it can be so easy to become crushed by anxiety, worry, doubt, impatience, grief, and fear, yet as kingdom people, we are called to live by faith. We don’t look at life the same as the world, which means we ought not to go through life the same as the world. We don’t walk by what we see, rather by faith in what we know to be true: God is perfect in all of His ways and He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.

Knowing this is one thing, but believing it is another. We may know what the word says about how He works things together, how He keeps us in perfect peace, or how He redeems, delivers, and restores, but sometimes we don’t truly believe it for ourselves. We may look at how He’s been faithful in others’ lives and celebrate God’s grace and power for others, but in our hearts still doubt that He’d show up for us in the same way. Sometimes these feelings come from being disappointed by others in the world so we put human error on God; Sometimes they come from impatience, but most times they come from not having a clear, unwavering understanding of the unfailing goodness and eternal wisdom of God.

You see, God is the Alpha and Omega. He is the Beginning and the End. That means that He knows everything about you, what you will do and won’t do, and everything in between and He has a plan written from eternity’s past to cause all things to work together for His glory and your good. The work is completed, you’re just living it out! We have to understand that God doesn’t do anything halfway. He finishes what He starts, and whatever good thing He began in you, He has promised to bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6)! You don’t ever have to wonder if God is going to drop the ball with you because it is impossible for Him to fail! But you have to believe that.

Today, I want to encourage you to see God as not just your Father, Friend, Savior, Provider, Lord, or King, but as your Perfecter. To perfect something means to bring it to completion, or to bring it to a condition where it is without faults, flaws, or defects.

My friend, God is not like man. Where we see broken, scattered pieces in our lives, worthy of nothing but being placed in the garbage, God sees the pieces He needed to create beautiful mosaics of our lives. He is not surprised by the battles, challenges, or growing pains that you face. He knew they would come. In fact, He allowed them to come so that He could perfect you and produce in you the fruit He’s called you to bear in this short life. I need you to know that whatever situation you may be facing, whether it be a mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical battle, the Lord will perfect everything that concerns you (Psalm 138:8). He is the Author and Finisher of your story! He is the epitome of wisdom and an expert at perfecting everything, including you and your situation. He is your Perfecter. What in your life do you need Him to perfect for you?
